STORY / GAMEPLAY After the impressive intro telling the story of the game, the quest begins in a fantasy world where an evil magician called Anthrax summons a Demon in order to take over everything. By the time he is summoned, the Demon brings hordes of freaking creatures along. The Kingdom's Princess is lost and the King fears that the Demon took her away. You are the only one who can help find the Demon, kill him, bring the Princess back to safety and put an end to Anthrax's plans. The way is extremely difficult though as you have to avoid traps and fight against flying creatures, giants and, finally, the Demon himself. Wrath Of The Demon is one of the toughest games ever made and one of the most technically advanced for the Amiga, ST and PC (DOS). All game's controls are responsive and the game tasks are quite entertaining while they need some synchronization to complete.
GRAPHICS / SOUND Readysoft has done a great job on the Amiga and the game resembles a lot the great Psygnosis' Shadow of The Beast. All scenes are nicely detailed with several animated backdrops and offer many levels of smooth, parallax scrolling and loads of colors. The sprites look detailed and very well animated (check i.e. the horse running on level one) and move fast on screen. Note that the MS-DOS and Atari ST versions are also good, especially the MS-DOS version which is much more similar to the Amiga in terms of colors and details, rather than the latter's animation awesomeness! The game's sound is awesome featuring great music tunes during gameplay composed by the great David Whittaker and a variety of high quality sampled sound effects that again remind us of the Psygnosis' masterpiece! The game starts with a very impressive intro tune along with an astonishing animated sequence that tell the story!
